Yaikus Studio Terms of Service
Last updated: October 13, 2026
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are an agreement between you and Gerardo Silva (“we”, “us”) that governs your use of the Yaikus Studio macOS app, its optional publishing features and the website at yaik.us. By downloading, installing or using Yaikus Studio you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use it.
1. The service
Yaikus Studio is a native macOS app that helps you turn news into short videos using AI, voice and footage services that you connect yourself. The free edition is open source (MIT license) and takes you from news to a finished video file. The premium edition adds optional publishing to your own YouTube, TikTok and Instagram accounts. Features may change, and the app is currently an early release (v0.1).
2. Eligibility and your account
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, and able to form a binding agreement. Yaikus Studio has no accounts of its own. Where you connect a third-party account (such as YouTube, TikTok or Instagram), you must be the owner of that account or be authorized to use it, and you are responsible for keeping your devices and credentials secure.
3. License and intellectual property
The source code of the free edition is licensed under the MIT License, which governs your use, copying and modification of that code. The premium edition is licensed to you for personal or business use on your own devices and may not be copied, resold or reverse engineered except as the law allows. The Yaikus Studio name and icon are not covered by the MIT License: you may not use them to identify a modified version or to suggest endorsement, but you may use the name to accurately say that something works with Yaikus Studio. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
4. Your content and your responsibilities
You keep all rights to the scripts, videos and other material you create. You are solely responsible for what you create and publish with the app, including:
- Having the rights and permissions needed for any news, text, images, footage, audio, music or voices you use, and respecting the copyright and terms of the sources you collect.
- Reviewing AI-generated scripts and videos for accuracy, fairness and legality before publishing. AI output can be wrong, biased or inaccurate, and we do not guarantee it.
- Labeling AI-generated or synthetic content where a platform or the law requires it.
- Complying with the rules and policies of every platform you publish to, and with the laws that apply to you.
5. Third-party services and platforms
Yaikus Studio connects to services that we do not own or control, including the AI, voice and stock-footage providers you choose, and the platforms you publish to. Your use of them is governed by their own terms, and we are not responsible for them. In particular, if you use publishing features you must comply with the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy, the TikTok Terms of Service, and Instagram's and Meta's terms and platform policies. Publishing uses the official APIs of these platforms and is subject to their limits, review requirements and availability. Platforms may remove content, restrict accounts or change their APIs at any time, and we are not responsible for those decisions. You can revoke the app's access at any time on each platform.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Yaikus Studio to:
- Create or publish content that is unlawful, defamatory, hateful, harassing, deceptive, sexually exploitative, or that infringes the rights of others.
- Generate or spread misinformation, impersonate real people without their consent, or mislead viewers about the origin of content.
- Spam, manipulate platform metrics, or otherwise violate the rules of YouTube, TikTok, Instagram or any other service you use.
- Attempt to interfere with, disable or circumvent the security of the app, our website, or any third-party platform or API.
7. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how data is handled. In short, your content and credentials stay on your Mac and are not sent to us. See also the data deletion instructions.
8. Premium edition and fees
The free edition is provided at no charge. If we offer the premium edition for a fee, the price, billing and any refund rules will be shown at the point of purchase and, where it is distributed through a store such as the Mac App Store, will also be subject to that store's terms. Features of either edition may change over time.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Yaikus Studio is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement, or uninterrupted or error-free operation. We do not warrant that content you produce will be accepted by, or remain available on, any platform.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, content, accounts, audience or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use Yaikus Studio, including content removed or accounts restricted by a platform. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app will not exceed the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 50 if you paid nothing. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
11. Indemnity
You agree to defend and hold us harmless from claims, damages and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from the content you create or publish, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party rights.
12. Suspension and termination
You may stop using Yaikus Studio at any time by deleting the app and disconnecting your accounts. We may suspend or end access to the premium edition or our website if you breach these Terms or the law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 and 14) will continue to apply.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest revision, and for material changes we will update this page. If you keep using Yaikus Studio after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Mexico. Any dispute will be submitted to the competent courts of Mexico City, Mexico, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.
